Warm Up Exercises
Warm up exercises are not optional whether you are a beginner or a top rated athlete. Depending on the temperature of the environment and your training intensity you do not need to spend more than a few minutes doing some gentle stretching and body movements (e.g. arm and leg swings) but your muscles and joints DO need to be warmed up!
The main areas to look out for include the shoulder joints (e.g. use arm swings), the legs (e.g use leg swings and stretching), hips (e.g. use hip rotations and legs apart forward bends) and possibly your back especially if you have back problems (e.g. use gentle stretching and light cardio).
